I have mixed emotions hitting me this morning. My Maternal Grandmother, Mom and Uncle...all gone. I have one uncle (eldest) and aunt (second eldest) left. My grandfather whom I adored, passed when I was a teenager. This is pretty much it...the Campbells (all but those two) are gone.
I haven't flown home since my mom died 5 years ago. I couldn't, now I must. My grandmother will be laid to rest near my grandfather who is on the opposite side (across some land) of my mom and uncle.
I haven't cried (oh wait here's some tears).
Feeling sad but I knew the call was coming soon. I felt it. Actually when I saw my brothers number at that hour of the evening, I knew. So now I'm preparing to leave for a few days. My boss explained I get 4 days so I will use them accordingly. I know she's at peace. I know my mom and uncle are at peace as well. I just pray I can find some peace here in the now...until we all meet again...you know?
There are really no words for how I feel....
Except to say..."My heart Aches...."

Ooh lala...

23 Kind Words:
Oh Dear Lovey...My heart goes with you to Buffalo. May the Light of Love shine upon her and on you now as you say farewell to a precious soul - your mother's mother.
Loving and comforting hugs to you
sweet woman,

I feel for you Lovey and send my love. My dad passed just four weeks ago and he was two weeks from being 100 years old. No matter how long you have them though, the loss is still the same. Take care xx
I'm sorry to hear of your loss. Living a long life can be both a gift and a burden. Hopefully hers was more of a gift. Perhaps using her photo in your beautiful collage work will help ease the sorrow?
Gentle hugs,
Pat
Lovey I am so sorry to hear this news. Loss of a loved one is always hard, there are always questions and no answers for now.
But I can picture her sitting on a beautiful porch with our Lord, laughing and chatting with Him and telling Him all about her family and the good times they all shared.
Travel safely, come back with peace in your heart, knowing His angel's arms are around you at this time.
My love and prayers go with you!

Hi Lovey,
I have been an admirer of your blog for some time now, but have never left a comment until now... Just want to say that my heart goes out to you during this time. In a five year span, both my parents, my daughter-in- law's parents, 2 best friends and my beloved husband passed. So you could say I may not know exactly how you feel, but I am familiar with grief. And I too had a special relationship with my grandmother however on my Dad's side. I loved her but because of family issues, she never allowed us to get close to her...so when she passed after living over 80 years...I had mixed emotions. But I have forgiven her and made peace with the Lord about it.
Just want you to know that I will be praying for you as you make this trip to Buffalo, that you will be a light for the Lord and a witness of His peace that passes all understanding.
Take care and have a safe trip...Veronica
So sorry for your loss. I understand about the mixed emotions. I have similar feelings about family. I hope you find some peace and that your trip home is a safe one.

I was very close to my paternal grandmother; she passed away in 1979. She was the last living grandparent of mine . . . I still miss her. Love and prayers to you as you fly back home . . .
Dear friend, may you find comfort in the lovely memories. You are so blessed to have them! Remember, time heals broken hearts. Be strong!
I am so sorry for your loss Lovey, no matter how old our grandparents are and how much we know they will be at peace when they pass it does not make it any easier. Please know you are uplifted at this difficult time.
So sorry for your loss Lovey.
Hang in there Lovey, you are one of the strongest souls I know, seriously, you are loved my many and you know we all hold you in our hearts and prayers. Have a safe journey and hurry back. Hugs and xoxo, M
Well I'm out visiting all around Blogland and seeing who I might meet, and I'm very happy to meet you! First I'm so sorry about your Grandma, happy for her, sad for you. I've sent most of my older family members on ahead as well, so I know the feeling. However, I do seriously love your blog, your writing, and your gorgeous fabric art. I've read a ton of your back posts and still have more to read, which makes me happy, like you know how you hate to get to the end of a good book? Well, I'm still reading you! So thanks for having me over for a bit, and I'll see you again real soon.
Hugs,
Mary @ Redo 101
