Getting Better!

Well, I've been away for a bit because my youngest son was in the hospital for a little over a week. I must say that it has been extremely difficult watching him go through the tests and needles! He cried out to me "mommy, help me!" as the doctors were working with him. It broke my heart to hear him cry out to me that way...looking for me to make them STOP! Of course I couldn't. I pray that one day he will understand why mommy allowed them to do what they did...or even better that he forgets the whole thing as he grows up. Either way...it's been a trying time for us all. He is getting better now. Thank you to all my friends and family for your love and support. May God continue to bless you and your families!
Loving someone outside of yourself...is a wonderful way to give others a piece of your heart!

I'm Teaching an Online Workshop!!

I will be hosting my first online workshop at http://creativeworkshops.ning.com/ starting on September 29, 2009. It will be an ongoing class with video workshop clips and PDF. The cost is $55.00. WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
This workshop will teach you how to transfer photos onto fabric using gel medium and transparencies. The results are images that are beautiful, rustic, and vintage in appearance. The process is fun, relaxing and quite gratifying. A sense of accomplishment when the transfers have moved from the transparency to the fabric is always present. These images can then be used in your expressions of art. If you have a love for creating something beautiful with photos and fabric, preserving memories or making up new ones then this workshop is for you. The workshop is ongoing. Learn at your own pace. No pressure for perfection. Gel Medium Transfers allow you to be creative and artistic even as a beginner. There is a PDF with pictures, supplies and technique to accompany the class. My Sweet Inspiration

I absolutely love these dolls. My mom who has since passed away gave them to me when I was about 4 years old. I love that I still have them as they remind me of happy times with her, when innocence was really innocent, and girls could play with dolls without shame. They sit on my desk to remind me to look within when I am creating and expressing myself through my art. Such sweet inspiration. Thanks mom.

What a Wonderful Day!

Today was such a great day for finding items to use in my art work. I was able to go to a local thrift store where again I found a lot of old vintage jewelry. Some of the pieces were broken but still quite nice. The cost for the jewelry ranged between $.50 and $3.50! I was able to get a nice bit of old jewelry. I am always looking for more so if you have any that you would like to pass on to me please contact me by leaving a message here under this post.
I also was able to find a beautiful solid jewelry box with some awesome brass decorations on it. The box is simply georgous and a wonderful place to showcase these old pieces.
