Sometimes getting into the grove of creating makes everything else seem like child's play. Just to have the opportunity to sit down at my computer and printer is so wonderful to me. Completing photo transfers on fabric is pure joy. Make sure to take time out for yourself to create. You'll be glad you did.
Today I learned a valuable lesson... and that was to forgive myself for all the things I can't do anything about. People have a way of bringing you down..making you feel less than enough..and if you take on those thoughts you will drown in their discomforts about you... The lesson therefore is to not be stuck in their feelings about you. Forgive yourself for the problems you may have caused by holding on to what you should have let go of. Forgive yourself when others will not.
You are awesome... whether or not someone else feels the same...
I know that I have neglected being on my blog.. lost contact with a lot of great bloggers but hopefully I will be able to come back to it soon more regularly.
Yesterday I had surgery. In the prep room before my surgery, the Dr's assistant tells me she is going to give me something to make me calm...I tell her okay, as I was fully awake and speaking with the surgeon and the team that would be with me. She inserts the needle into my IV and I rest my head back as I can feel it kick in immediately. I do remember vaguely; breathing into a mask as well...very faint memory of that though. Next thing I know, I'm waking up. I ask the nurse "where am I?" She responds..."you are in the recovery room, been sleep about 2 hours." I ask her..."are you sure?" "I didn't have the surgery yet." She responds..."yes sweetie you did, want to see the wound dressing?" Dazed and Quite Groggy... I respond..."Wow, I missed the whole thing!" We both smiled... Too funny.
Hello Bloggers! My name is Lovey and I am pleased to have you visit my studio.
When I started off, I was into scrapbooking heavily. I enjoyed cutting and gluing and making one of a kind scrapbooks for my family and friends. As time went on, I developed a love for digital photography and creating digital scrapbooks with my images. I really enjoyed learning to scrap both with paper and my computer, but I still felt that there was something more for me to do and explore, and that I wasn't finding myself as fulfilled as I once did.
As fate would have it in 2006, my mom passed away and I felt an emptiness that I had never felt before. I knew I had to do something that would uplift me and bring honor to her at the same time.
And this is what I Created..
™Fabric Photo Memories by Lovey
I have found my passion and it comes through in my fabric art.
I create Fabric Photo Collages using images of African American Women from the 1700's thru Early 1900's. This style of art is all my own and was birth through the pains in my life that needed healing.
